When I say I truly can't believe we are into 2023 already.. mean it. This past year flew by in a blink. A lot of that had to do with the fact that we welcomed our second kiddo Colton into the world. Its true what they say "the days are long, but the years are short". In a few short days this little man is going to be ONE. I can hardly believe that little squish that we brought home from the hospital a year ago is walking, babbling and going to be ONE.

I can tell you another reason this year flew was because of how "busy" it was. We had our daughter Willow involved in dance until May, Then soccer in the summer, flag football in the Fall AND she started preschool. She thrives being a part of a team and loves being active. She is also the most outgoing four year old I know. Along with new baby, four year old and already an established business....I started growing and selling cut flowers during the summer, its something I've wanted to do for a LONG time. It hours of really hard work. But I loved doing it and can't wait to get my hand in the dirt this year.

With all of that being said I really took a lot of time at the end of this year to plan out some goals for 2023. At the beginning of each year I usually plan some type of goal, I'll scribble it on a post it and stick it above my desk. However, this year I wanted to do things a little different. Years ago when I was in business school we talked about creating S.M.A.R.T. Goals... Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. I remember hating to do this in college, but this year it made so much sense to write out my goals specifically, make sure they had an end date and figure out how I was going to measure if they were successful or not. I have TEN goals for this year. I'll share three of them with you now and then hopefully by the end of the year if I accomplish the rest I'll share those as well....

#1) Take more behind the scenes videos/pictures.

I loved being able to share with everyone the process of setting everything up for Holiday Minis this year, but I always have the "whose going to hold my phone, there's nothing to prop it against". So... I bought a ring light with an iphone holder in it, I am determined I'm going to take more behind the scenes and share them with you all.

#2) Take my nice camera with me.

When I started my business I had one "nice" camera and one "nice" lens. Well, over the years I've saved and purchased new equipment. What was once my "nice camera" is now my "older camera" I can take with me places. Do I sometimes? sure! When I do, does it leave my bag? Nope, absolutely not. I'm hoping 2023 is the year I FINALLY document my own life and children.

#3) Be more intentional about Mini Sessions.

Every year time passes and I'm like "dang, should of done something for Mothers Day" and "shoot should of done something for that holiday...too late now!" I sat down last week and planned an entire year of Mini Sessions. I have a few more I'd like to add, but I am so stinking excited to have a PLAN this year!

Wishing you all health, wealth and wisdom in the New Year.
